Mills & Davies Apiaries visit is a great informal way to get up close, and witness the fascinating little world of honey bees! Whether it's to start your own journey keeping bees, or just sheer fascination, this hands on introduction is the perfect way to start.
After getting suited & booted you will join Mark and Lucy as beekeepers for the day, getting up close and hands on with our honey bees at Juniper Barn.
We are not camera shy, we encourage everyone to take as many photos and videos as they wish, this is your experience that we want you to enjoy and remember!
After your beekeeping, we will return to the Barn to talk about the experience, answer any questions and sit down to a cream tea lunch followed by honey tasting.

Cream Tea Lunch
Relax with a warm scone, thick clotted cream, and strawberry jam. as we sit and chat about the experience. A perfect setting for a last minuet Q&A.
Honey Tasting
Enjoy this season’s honey along with all the honey-based treats we lovingly create, from our peanut butter, honey caramel popcorn to our hand toasted granola.
Keeping You & The Bees Safe
Safety is our primary concern for both our visitors and our colonies. To ensure a harmonious visit, we require all participants to follow these guidelines:
• Age Limits: For their safety, all bee yard visitors must be at least 12 years of age. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Clothing: Please wear long trousers and high ankle shoes/boots. We provide protective veils and jackets, but sturdy footwear is essential.
• Allergies: If you have a known allergy to bee stings, please inform us in advance. We maintain a strict safety perimeter and provide thorough briefings before entering the yard.
• Bee Welfare: We move calmly and quietly among the hives to avoid startling the bees, ensuring they remain settled throughout your experience.
